More new stuff

Today our appliances came, although they won't be installed for a few weeks yet. They look so big! I've never had any brand new appliance let alone all at once, so I'm excited about this! Carpets also came, but they're still rolled up, so couldn't get a really good look at those. The kitchen will be templated for the countertop next week. Was going to be today, but they come from Fargo, and are backed up due to the flood, of course. We chose granite. The color is a gray with a brownish/warm tone to it. This weekend I really need to wash the slate floor in the foyer and get the grout lines sealed.

Purchases

We made one of our last major purchases for the house today--LIGHTING!!! We ordered countertop earlier this week and carpet last Saturday. Those were 3 major things that we had to get accomplished (like last month). Mark has done a great job of staining and sealing all the ceilings and most of the walls (with the exception of a few drywall walls. I think that was a bigger job than we anticipated. I am starting to think about moving and where I'm going to put stuff/organize/decorate/etc. I really am pretty much clueless at this point.

Here are a few pictures from back in January when the cabinets were being installed. We still need to choose countertop and lighting and hardware for the cabinets and drawers.

Fingerpainting

Yesterday, Jacob got to fingerpaint with corn syrup and food coloring. He had a great time. He would paint a little, then lick a little, then paint, then lick, etc. We made 2 Chrismtas tree ornaments.
