First Steps

OK, so these aren't Jacob's FIRST first steps, but he's getting braver little by little. I discovered this morning that this little red chair is perfect for a starting point for him. I sat him on it, and for the first time, he took off on his own instead of me coaxing him! Sorry the video is sideways; I wasn't thinking when I took it. I'll try and post another one at a later date/time.

First Haircut

Jacob had his very first haircut a couple weeks ago. Here is the proof! Brenda did a great job--I sure wasn't gonna attempt it!

Last weekend Mark and I traveled to Minneapolis. My grandma got wind of this, and generously brought us a map of the twin cities (which we definitely needed!) Here is Jacob studying the map since he apparently thought he would help us find our way. Little did he know, he wasn't even going along!


"Hmmm, well I think you take this road, then turn right here, then a quick left..."


"Yes, this is it, right here."


"Oh, forget it; you guys'll never find your way...."


This trip was also Mark's and my introduction to Wii bowling, tennis, and Guitar Hero. Now we are on the lookout for other friends that own this great time-sucking pasttime, so we can work on perfecting our skills...... Do wish I had some pictures of that!

Log shipment

We received our first shipment of house materials a couple weeks ago. Hard to imagine that pile of logs and lumber as my future home!
